Dashboards & Portals

Coming Soon

India has a growing ecosystem of online platforms that publish river-related data — from national water quality dashboards to basin-level GIS portals. Most of them are free, publicly accessible, and underused simply because people do not know they exist or how to navigate them.

This page will cover:

  • India-WRIS (Water Resources Information System): the national single-window WebGIS portal — what layers it contains, how to find your basin or river stretch, and how to export data
  • CPCB Water Quality Dashboard: how to find published water quality monitoring data, understand the monitoring station network, and read trend reports
  • NMCG Ganga Dashboard: the public-facing monitoring and project status interface for the Namami Gange programme
  • State-level portals: a curated list of state PCB and water department portals with notes on what each publishes and how reliably it is updated
  • Satellite-based platforms: global tools like Google Earth Engine, Copernicus Open Access Hub, and NASA Earthdata that can be used to observe river extent, turbidity, and land-use change over time
