Find Your River Zone
Section titled “Find Your River Zone”What this guide will cover
Section titled “What this guide will cover”A short, practical guide that helps a new volunteer locate their nearest major river zone in the Our Rivers section and find existing local action and community groups.
Planned content:
- India’s 9 river zones on one map — a simple visual overview of the Ganga, Yamuna, Sindhu, Brahmaputra, Godavari, Narmada, Mahanadi, Krishna, and Kaveri zones and which states and districts fall within each.
- How to find your zone — a district-to-zone lookup (searchable table or simple map interaction) so you can identify your zone in under a minute.
- What to look for in your zone page — once you land on a zone page in Our Rivers, this guide explains which sections are most useful for a new volunteer: health snapshot, community & action, and local organisations.
- What to do if your river is not listed yet — Our Rivers is growing; if your specific river has no page yet, this guide suggests interim options (WRIS, local NGO search, Thinking Grounds).
- Next step — once you know your zone and your nearest active group, head to Your First Cleanup or contact the listed organisation directly.
