Cleanup Drive Playbook

Intermediate

A complete, repeatable action plan for organising a river cleanup drive in India — from the first idea to final waste disposal.

Planned content:

  1. Site selection — how to choose a suitable stretch; access, safety, waste type, and community sensitivity checks.
  2. Permissions and registrations — when you need prior permission, who to contact (local body, forest department, river authority), and what to carry on the day.
  3. Logistics planning — equipment sourcing (bags, gloves, tools), waste disposal coordination with local municipal body, transport, and headcount management.
  4. Volunteer briefing — how to run a pre-drive briefing covering safety, zones, roles, and waste segregation protocol.
  5. Running the drive — zone management, incident response, documentation during the event.
  6. Closing the drive — waste handover process, headcount, debrief, and on-site photography checklist.
  7. Post-drive reporting — data to record, formats to use, and how to submit to Nadikosh or your NGO partner.

After your drive, complete the Event Review Template and share learnings with the community.
